Icons of Our Holy Monastic
Father St. Gall.
Top Icon: from the St. Andrews
Workshop in France.
Next Icon: shows Sts. Comgall,
Gall, and Columban (all associated with Bangor Abbey, County Down). St.
Gall is in the centre. This icon is available from St. George
Orthodox Information Service in England and was published by St.
Colman's Orthodox Church, Stradbally, Co. Loais, Ireland. The
inscription on the scroll held by St. Gall is "Gold and silver have I
none."
Next
Icon: of unknown provenance, perhaps from a St. Herman Calendar.
The icon below is a manuscript
illumination of St. Gall in a chant book of the mid-11th century. St.
Gall is shown with Abbot's staff on the right, and the scribe of the
manuscript is presenting his work to the Saint for God's glory.
